This water fountain jumped out of the scene when I first saw it in yesterday’s beautiful sunset. I took some shots hoping the sunset only gave me adequate lighting, because street lights were far from where I was. Many came out too dark or blurry. I did not want to use flash, because I just […]
I spent some time on the rooftop of my apartment building the other night. The view of downtown was nice but the photos did not come out good: The photos were not very crisp and the focus might have been too long. The view of nearby Noe Valley homes came out better. Exposure might have […]
Golden Gate Bridge has been in this color called International Orange for over 75 years. It is said to blend in well with the bridge’s surroundings. Not sure if it blends well but it sure stands out well. This photo was taken at Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museum on the New Year’s Day.
On New Year’s Day, I went to San Francisco’s Lands End for a stroll and photography. Lands End is one of my favorite places in the city because of dramatic natural setting and view of Golden Gate Bridge. Perfect place to be with a telephoto. It was a beautiful day and waves were huge, but […]
Dolores Park has a palm grove that is small but looks pretty healthy. Considering cool weather in San Francisco weather, one might not think these palm trees would thrive but they are doing just fine. I took a few shots of the grove, but this close-up came out much more interesting than others that captured […]
Extra photo today now that I am on Twitter! Hope to tweet something interesting. Dalarna is a quintessential region of Sweden with those red Swedish houses. Perfect place to take good landscape shots.
This was not an interesting photo in color as it was taken in a dark afternoon from an Amtrak seat and there was too much blur and noise all. I turned this into grayscale and played with noise level a bit. Still not clear but the trees in the foreground stand out much better than […]
I was walking around Eureka Valley neighborhood yesterday and found this place called Kite Hill Open Space. It’s not a park but an open space, maintained by San Francisco Recreation & Park Department. It’s a small hill with downtown view, as well as views of Twin Peaks and Corona Heights that is seen in the […]
A couple of weeks ago, I was in Sonoma’s Glen Ellen with friends visiting wineries. Every time I visit Sonoma, I wonder why I don’t go there more often, because the scenery is beautiful and very different from San Francisco. This time, fall foliage and warm sun welcomed us.
I like the different texture in this photo. Curvy clouds, spiky trees and silky water. Boston by the Charles.
