In San Francisco, all these neighborhoods are sprung up with new shops, restaurants or condo buildings these days. Areas known as Duboce Triangle and Lower Haight are not exception. In the past few years, the neighborhoods have been cleaned up and occupied with fashionable shops and restaurants. Anyway, I took this photo in a low […]
I have to admit that I am running out of photos to share! This photo was taken back in November last year and always liked it. Dolores is a rather pretty, palm tree lined street in San Francisco. Both Dolores Park and Mission Dolores are on this street. I like the name Liberty as a […]
It was chilly the night before, and the temperature did not climb up the next day. In the streets, people bundled up a little more. Daytime temperatures below 50F definitely slow people down in San Francisco. Me included.
At first sight, I saw this face in a tree root. I don’t know if you see it but it was obvious to me. A man – viking or Amazon native – with his eyes closed, perhaps.
Earlier, I posted a photo of ginkgo leaf that was on a garden chair. I moved to take a photo, because the leaf was so perfectly positioned on the chair and the color of the leaf was bright and beautiful. Yesterday, I saw another ginkgo leaf similarly bright and beautiful, and that was the last […]
I took close-up photos of a beautiful Camellia, but they did not come out as good as I expected. So I took one of them and played around. The result was grayscaled Camellia that shows petal veins in a dramatic way. Too bad I could not use the original colors but I like how it […]
There was a hole in this hedge, and there I saw branches that had fantastic texture and colors. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to play with it and see what comes out of it. With some tweaking on GIMP, the branches began to have rusty metallic texture. Like it.
Moss is resilient and it does not ask too much to live. But urban streets do not provide the most desirable conditions. So it grows where it can, when it can. Today, I found it on someone else’s front step. It was after a couple of days of rain, so it was not dry and […]
I found trees in the puddle, upside down. It had rained while shopping and there were lots of puddles in the street. In each puddle, there was reflection of trees, sky, building, etc.. This one came out good and clear. Interesting shot.
After my haircut this morning, I took a walk in the neighborhood. This is a block directly across the street from Dolores Park that is very popular among locals and visitors. It was rare to see the street this quiet.
