I’ve passed by this shrub so many times without noticing. But this past Saturday, in a low-light rainy Saturday afternoon, the shrub was emitting fiery glow with red, orange, burgundy, auburn, maroon and all other shades of red. Totally deserve the dramatic cultivar name. Advertisements

Not something you would expect from the title. But since it is winter and all, it seems appropriate. By the way, I did not know this plant is called snowflakes. We rarely get snowfall in San Francisco, so this is as close as we get to snowflakes.
These bottlebrush flowers are blooming all over the city now, though they might bloom all year around. Once I referred it as toilet brush flower, my friends appropriately pointed out it was bottlebrush flower. Well, toilet brush can be colorful!
